Sahuarita, Arizona

Just 15 miles south of Tucson, the Town of Sahuarita encompasses a 29 square mile area of pristine desert that has been carefully cultivated to preserve the past while building the future.  This fertile river valley, originally settled by the Hohakam Tribes, is known for its natural beauty of expansive desert views and majestic mountains.

Established in 1994, the Town of Sahuarita has been built by an experienced and dedicated team of professionals under the direction of a Town Council.  Their goal is to keep alive traditions of the past while creating a contemporary town of the future.  Here you'll find communities featuring some of the nations most innovative and technologically advanced master planned developments.

And don't forget about the climate, boasting 310 days of sunshine per year with average temperature highs nearing 100 to moderate lows of 65.  Comfortable and relaxed lifestyles are just a couple of the many benefits you'll discover in Sahuarita.

Sahuarita maintained its reputation as an Arizona boom town in 2004, as its population passed 10,000; triple what it was in 2000.  Residential building has continued to sky rocket, as the town added a Wal-Mart Super Center, Madera Marketplace, as well as the new Fry's Marketplace in Rancho Sahuarita.  In addition, developer Phillip Aries proposed an annexation to the west that could mean another 20,000-unit residential development, plus commercial possibilities.  There are many builders such as KB Home, Richmond American, Maracay, Pulte Home, DR Horton and others; currently building homes in Sahuarita at a feverish pace.

Sahuarita's name roughly translates from Spanish as "little saguaro", for the famous cactus that thrives throughout the Santa Cruz Valley area.
